Astrée theater - Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1

https://theatre-astree.univ-lyon1.fr/programme/
The Astrée theater is located on the LyonTech-la Doua campus. Managed by the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1’s Culture Team, this venue is not only a place for professional contemporary creations and performances, but also a place for students and amateur artists to get to know each other.

As a multidisciplinary venue, the Astrée theater’s program includes contemporary theater, of course, but also music, film screenings, discussions and lectures, and dance performances, with the Chaos Danse festival, a major event in the City of Lyon. Shows are selected based on artistic innovation and quality, but also accessibility.

As a university venue, the Astrée theater is also a place of discovery and initiation for students. They also benefit from free admission throughout the season. Students have the opportunity to take center stage during the Les Arthémiades Festival in May, an event organized by the artistic workshops coordinated by the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1’s Culture Team.

With 450 seats, the Astrée theater boasts a large stage area and high quality equipment, offering professional and amateur companies the perfect working environment.

All of the performances are free to students from all disciplines.
Open to all audiences, and with a particular focus on the city of Villeurbanne, the Astrée theater is committed to a strong cultural policy, which is reflected in its varied program, its hosting of numerous emerging companies, and its accessible pricing policy.
